Early Years & Primary Services

We are proud to be one of the pioneers for the methods that we have adopted through the London College Music and we have been delighted with the results so far!

This method can be used in Nurseries with preschool or foundation level children as young as 3 years old.

Our primary schools service has been designed to help tackle the new requirements and curriculum changes for music. To achieve this we provide a scheme of work of lessons on a half termly basis to KS1 including:

Notation - Rhythm and Pitch - Classical Music - World Music - Ensemble Singing - Instrument Trials

Following this we can then provide CPD training for teachers as to how they can continue the musical progression throughout KS2.

The sessions are based around a method, which has been accredited by London College of Music (University of West London) and the aim is to teach young children how to read, write and play music. The syllabus uses songs, rhymes, stories and instruments to teach children in a fun and interactive environment.

The aim of the class is to build a foundation of musical skills that will be beneficial not only musically, but in many other ways. There are strong links between the study of notation and maths, language development, visual memory, motor skills/co-ordination, literacy, confidence, focus and creativity.

We would normally expect all children to have achieved the requirements of the syllabus within 1-2 school terms and all successful candidates will receive a certificate accredited by London College of Music. (see above left)
